Justine has been a dancer and athlete ever since she can remember. As a group fitness instructor at JMU’s recreation center she found she had a natural affinity for both yoga & Pilates, and obtained a certification through Balance Body for mat and reformer Pilates. She loves the mindful and intelligent approach to fitness (mental, emotional, & physical) that both practices offer students. After graduating from JMU, Justine worked in the film and television industry in Austin, TX and LA. Eventually, Justine realized that she desperately missed teaching mind & body classes and decided to simultaneously work on obtaining a rigorous BASI Pilates certification, as well as a ballet barre certification at Tracy Mallet’s studio in South Pasadena.
Justine returned to Harrisonburg in January 2014, and has been managing and teaching Pilates, barre and TRX at Breathe Pilates since the day she stepped foot back in town. She is inspired daily by her clients, and wakes up every morning excited to spread the love she has for the mind & body. Justine lives happily in Downtown Harrisonburg with her boyfriend, Luke, and puppy (he’s almost 4 now), Duke Dog. In her free time she enjoys hiking mountains, bon fires, and going to the Farmer’s Market.
