My goodness i have missed your voice Allie- and your knowledge of our body stress and facial tightness. I have needed you more than I recognized during all this Covid times, and I am so glad I have landed back in your safe place. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!
Kristy Brophy has been practicing mindfulness since 2011, experiencing many of the benefits that research shows comes from a daily practice (most notably an improved ability to manage stress and anxiety). On a recent trip to India, Kristy travelled for 5 months with her family, increasing her understanding of mindfulness techniques and the benefits of daily meditation. As a teacher with TLDSB, she began teaching mindfulness to students in 2013, and in 2016 completed an intensive year long Mindfulness Teacher Training course, through the Mindful Schools organization. Kristy is also a graduate of Bill Knight's Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course.
My yoga journey began 15 years ago when I began practicing Ashtanga and Bikram Yoga in Ottawa. My curiosity in yoga continued to grow after traveling to India twice, for extended periods. In India, I practiced yoga and was exposed to different approaches; I was hooked. This led me to the 600 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Ahimsa. This training has given me the ability to teach yoga in a safe and structured manner. Now, as a teacher of both yoga and mindfulness, my goal is to provide a safe space for others to care for their bodies and minds. My approach to yoga promotes strength and stability and also grounds and nurtures the practitioner. I hope to see you on the mat. Namaste.
