My goodness i have missed your voice Allie- and your knowledge of our body stress and facial tightness. I have needed you more than I recognized during all this Covid times, and I am so glad I have landed back in your safe place. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!
From a young age, Alyssa has wished to see a cohesive and peaceful world. After grieving the loss of three family members, struggling with depression and spiralling into addiction in her teen years, yoga was her saving grace. When Alyssa found yoga, she immediately felt the healing potential this ancient practice had on her mind, body and spirit. Alyssa developed a devotion to yoga which led her to become a certified 200 hour yoga teacher as well as a Reiki 2 practitioner. Alyssa’s intention is to share the practices that have helped her cultivate balance and wellness. Alyssa’s classes use a combination of breath, movement and inspiration to create a nourishing experience physically, emotionally and spiritually. Alyssa is currently furthering her studies with Allie Chisholm-Smith and Wendy Martin in a 600hr intensive program at Ahimsa.
Alyssa is now teaching 2 weekly classes at Ahimsa, Vinyasa Flow Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 and Wednesdays 12-1. The class is a dynamic combination of movement and breath, flowing creatively from one pose to the next. The practice begins in savasana and slowly builds on itself, reaching a peak pose and then unwinds back to savasana. Vinyasa Flow is a wholesome and energizing practice that focuses on building strength, fluidity, flexibility, balance and mindfulness.
