Kristi’s classes are such a good workout! She’s always introducing new movements and postures that we don’t typically work on which I love. and I’d say her class is really good at building strength and endurance.
Michael Hibberts is a licensed acupuncture physician and a
registered yoga teacher. He stepped into his first yoga class 9
years ago in 2005. The class was taught in his native home of
Savannah, GA. Originally, he was looking to stretch his hamstrings
and get some assistance with some lingering muscle and joint
injuries that he had incurred during his years growing up as an
avid athlete playing, football, baseball, basketball and other
various sports. Five years later in April of 2010, Michael went on
a solo-backpacking journey for 6 weeks to beautiful Costa Rica
where he surfed at many locations along the Pacific coast and he
practiced yoga daily. It was there that his love for yoga reached a
new pinnacle. After taking classes from several different teachers
from different backgrounds, he was amazed at what yoga was doing
for his mind, body and spirit and he realized the transformational
possibilities that come with the practice. He knew that he wanted
to deepen his knowledge and someday eventually teach. After
graduating with his Masters in Acupuncture in January of 2011,
Michael studied diligently and passed the National Board Exams
required to become a licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of
Florida. In January of 2012 he moved to beautiful Atlantic Beach
and was immediately impressed with the yoga community in and around
Jacksonville. In July 2014, Michael completed his 200 hour teacher
training under Alyson Foreacre at Yoga Den and his dream of
teaching yoga was finally a reality. Although he enjoys the
physical aspect of an intense asana practice, Michael’s style tends
to be more focused on the meditative and breath aspect of yoga. He
enjoys bringing his knowledge of Eastern Medicine into the Yoga
studio when teaching and sharing the many commonalities that these
two modalities offer.
