I came with a friend, and we both loved it! Aerial yoga was definitely challenging, but it was empowering and fun at the same time. The studio provides amenities from water to tea to blankets and a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Will come again!
Mike Shallow worked as a public school educator for 37 years. He has a B. A. degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from NYU and a M. Ed. Degree in school counseling from UWG. Mike completes an Educational Specialist degree in Professional Counseling from UWG with an emphasis on mindfulness interventions in the fall of 2018.
Spurred by a desire to live a healthy, joyous, pain free life, Mike’s interest in the healing arts began in the early 1970s when diagnosed with a rare arthritic condition. He was told that as he aged he could expect life in a wheelchair. He chose explorations of alternative healing, readings, and mindfulness practices and realized that this pain free life is possible for him and others. Now in his mid-sixties he enjoys better health than when in his early twenties.
In 2012 he met Dr. David Berceli the creator of Tension Release Exercises (TRE) . Mike attended Dr. Berceli’s workshop on TRE and due to his experience with the release of deeply held patterns of tension Mike decided to become a certified provider of TRE. Mike has been teaching TRE to individuals and groups for the past four years. Through this work he sees that TRE is an effective self-help tool to add to one’s skillset to promote resilience and stress relief.
In addition to TRE, Mike practices Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation, mantra, Kirtan, and Tapping (Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique), and Reiki to complement TRE to further promote tension release and enhance self-regulation. Mike’s goals in working with clients is to help them develop self-awareness of their current state of being, visualize what their ideal life is like, and help them work through obstacles to live this ideal life. Mike works to help clients live the best life possible through stress relief, grounding, balance, increased body awareness, gentle release of tension patterns, and the development of a growth mindset.
