I went to Johns Creek Yoga for the first time today and absolutely LOVED it. I'm a beginner, but still found the class easy to follow and adapt to my own level. Sheila's voice was inspirational and very calming. I can't wait to go back!
Aubrey first found yoga while looking to balance a disciplined fitness routine and competitive martial arts practice. With no experience, she walked into the newly opened Johns Creek Yoga for guidance and fell in love with both the practice and the community. In completing her Yoga Teacher Training there several years later, Aubrey found a deep connection to her personal practice on the mat, and even deeper fulfillment in meditation.
By fusing her own cheerful energy with these newfound loves, Aubrey brings a sense of playfulness to her classes that reminds students that yoga is a practice of joy. Her favorite aspect of teaching is helping students find their own happy place on the mat and gently nudging their boundaries. She believes that the practice of yoga should be a sustainable one that lasts a lifetime, encouraging practitioners to protect their bodies with safe alignment that fits their individual needs, and an awareness of the more nuanced sensations of movement. Her All Levels classes meet students where they are, providing plenty of guidance for brand new students and challenge for seasoned practitioners.
In addition to her 500RYT certification, Aubrey is a Second Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and continues to balance her yoga practice by exploring a variety of sweaty pursuits. She proudly represents Johns Creek Yoga as an Ambassador for lululemon Avalon, teaming up with their cheerful staff to share yoga with a broader community. Her passion for travel and nature constantly draws her outdoors, always seeking new adventures with her husband Jake and their two sweet pups.
