The absolute best restorative yoga class I’ve had in a long time. Came Away so calm and relaxed. I will make this a weekly treat for myself. And great teacher
Tanya’s passion for helping others was born through her own journey of healing and self -discovery. Tanya is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She spent several years working at treatment centers with clients struggling with life threatening substance abuse and mental health issues. Her specialty is working with clients who suffer from personal or family effects of addiction which includes navigating early recovery, codependency, self-love deficiency, trauma, anxiety and depression. As a fitness, dance and yoga enthusiast, Tanya became increasingly more intrigued by the healing power of movement, embodiment and the mind-body connection. She went on to complete a 200 hour yoga teacher training so she could skillfully provide mindful breath and body work to her clients. She was convinced of the importance of this adjunct treatment when yoga “saved” her after receiving a life changing diagnosis. Recognizing the physical, psychological and social impact of trauma and mental illness, Tanya utilizes a ‘trauma informed’ approach both in her therapy office and the yoga studio -- creating a space to feel physically and emotionally safe to explore their mind, body and spirit without judgement to become more fully present in their life. Tanya teaches individual and group yoga, trauma informed yoga workshops and is in private practice in Alpharetta, GA.
