Susan has always loved to move. Starting with dance and tennis in her teenage years, then backpacking and ultimate frisbee in college and her 20s. When she moved to the Pacific Northwest 22 years ago, she found skiing, climbing and yoga. Susan started practicing yoga regularly and tried a few different styles before finding her home in power vinyasa yoga. She loved the physical challenge, the mental calmness, and the vitality and freedom that came from being on her mat. Yoga and meditation also became powerful tools to help her calm anxiety and relieve depression. In 2015, after many years of practice, she enrolled in Baptiste Level 1 Training, which challenged her to not only to step out of her own comfort zone but to connect with and serve others through yoga. She then went on to complete her 200 hour RYT through Be Luminous Yoga in Seattle, Baptiste Level 2 training and Art of Assisting, and a Teacher Mentorship Program with Jo Parsons and Nicole Tsong. She holds a 200 hour RYT through Yoga Alliance, a Baptiste Tier One Certification and is also certified to teach yoga to kids and teens. Susan teaches with a balance of strength and softness, encouraging students to connect to breath, body and the present moment and to find freedom and possibility on and off the mat. Yoga is more than the physical poses, and in Susan’s classes you will begin to connect to your higher self and to the peace and power that already exist within you.
