Hiba grew up in Lebanon and moved to Washington DC at the age of
20, fleeing civil war. In DC she studied to become a
research biologist, working in that field while also
teaching French at a local pre-school. After 10 years there, she
and her family moved to Delaware where she stayed busy
enjoying raising her three kids, volunteering at their schools, and
helping in her husband’s office. At the age of 40, Hiba's interests
began to change. She began to experience the benefits of yoga in
her life, especially with dealing with her own survival scars after
17 years of war as a child growing up in the Middle East. In 2014,
Hiba completed her 200 hr yoga teacher training, followed by
certifications in Yoga for Cancer (Kripalu), teaching
mindfulness (Mindful Schools), and Yoga for Trauma and Depression.
Hiba is a member of Yoga Alliance and currently teaches yoga
locally at the Cancer Support Community, Cape Henlopen HS and
Mariner MS, as well as mindfulness at the Jefferson School as part
of the Minds Over Matter Initiative. In her free time, she loves
spending time with her family and enjoying the beach, music,
theater, running, yoga, hiking, traveling and sitting by the
fireplace doing absolutely nothing!
