SHINE Power Yoga Medford

SHINE Power Yoga Medford

FOUNDER OF SHINE POWER YOGA LLC & SHINE YOGA PROJECT NON-PROFIT, DIRECTOR OF POSSIBILITYMy yoga journey began in 1994 when I took my first yoga class from Baron Baptiste in a in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  That class ended with me a trembling, open &  wanting more of what I just experienced.  Shortly after that class I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and decided I would continue this unknown yoga journey and become a Baptiste Yoga teacher. I opened my first yoga studio in March 2001 and immersed myself into the community to bring Baptiste Power Yoga to each and every person in it.  I became a yoga teacher leading athletes from the Carolina Panthers, Red Bull Racing Team, NOMAD Aquatics Swim Team, Davidson Basketball & North Mecklenburg Lacrosse. My vision was to become a thriving & healthy yoga community to everyone from the stay-at-home Mom to a professional athlete.  This studio closed after five years and my family moved back to the Northeast where I currently reside.During my first 10 years teaching, I committed to learning and educating myself.  In college I studied Anatomy & Physiology and my yoga training enhanced my college education in countless ways.  Currently I have over 1000hrs of yoga training (I lost count actually after 1000) and lead SHINE Leadership Yoga Trainings as well as Classes and Workshops anywhere it takes me.In 2014 I decided to take on purchasing my first building to open another yoga studio. I am filled with JOY to own and operate SHINE Power Yoga Project.  SHINE supports two yoga studios currently that operate from our core values of Service and Community. I currently lead the SHINE team, teach yoga classes & create Trainings and Workshop content.  I was honored to serve on the Leadership Board for Africa Yoga Project and many local committees that service homelessness, poverty, hunger and addiction. I travel abroad carrying out service projects and also host Kenyan Yoga Teachers in my home twice a year.  I believe that with a clear Vision and commitment to Core Values a yoga teacher can be a bridge in any community anywhere in the world.  My belief is there is no separation between student and teacher, we are that for each other. When a yoga leader stands up and SEEs, speaks to what is happening in the moment and celebrates all students, because they showed up, MAGIC happens.
