I went to Calley’s Yoga Fundamentals Level 1 class, and it was great. Calley is very engaging, and her class was just what I was needing. I was hoping for some deep stretching as well as relaxation. I left feeling both energized and even-keeled. I’d highly recommend this class to both beginner and veteran yogis.
I have been practicing yoga since the mid-1990s when I started going to the gym with my mom. We both tried a Hatha Yoga class, and I was blown away with how amazing I felt afterwards. I then practiced intermittently whenever I found a studio that was convenient to attend both in price and location and discovered some amazing yoga studios around the world from New York to New Zealand.
When I started having babies, my practice fell by the wayside. Until a very wise soul reminded me that not only would my children be ok if I took time for myself to find my zen (as only yoga can do for me sometimes!), they would thrive having a calmer and more present mama! Amen! I made yoga (and myself!) a priority, and I haven't looked back since! I love all types of yoga- Restorative, Kundalini, Vinyasa, and Bikram (now known as 26&2), I also do distance running, and the toll it takes on the body can be intense. Yoga soothes all the tight places and helps keep me flexible so I'm less prone to injury.
I adore Surya Yoga, and the incredibly wonderful and inviting space and community Annie has created here! Every body is the perfect body for yoga. My husband, my brother, my mom, my kids-we all practice yoga and are so much better for it!
