Sound Method Yoga
I’ve always been passionate about movement: I have a Bachelor’s in Modern Dance and my love of somatic, creative, and intentionally curated movement was immediately sparked the first time I experienced it. After studying different modalities of movement throughout my entire life, my classes are a mix of creativity, exciting sequencing, activation & release, challenge & ease, and awareness of mind and heart. I’ve worked with all different experience levels and abilities and am extremely passionate about adaptable, all-levels movement & mindfulness practices. Throughout the last 6 years of teaching full-time, my style has been through many cycles of evolution while staying aligned with deeper teachings of yoga and movement. Now, expect to experience new ways of regulation in real-time, carefully constructed sequences to allow the body (and mind) to access new spaces, and connection to the beating heart and the breathing breath. Oh, and plenty of options for everyone (really, everyone! This practice is not reserved for select people!). The possibilities of these practices have always excited me. I am fascinated by the nervous system, our ability to regulate ourselves, the way we can change our brains and rewire our thought patterns, and these themes are widely explored in all of my classes. Yoga has given me the tools to become friends with my mind & thoughts (sometimes), to excavate my heart, and to truly connect with others and the world around me. Outside of yoga, I work full-time in after-school programming with a focus on self-regulation, self-expression, and connection. I am excited to meet you all!
