Evan L McManamy LMT (RI MT02510) is a licensed massage therapist in a trauma therapy bodywork practice. The foundation of his work is a mindfulness-based approach to embodied trauma therapy that is currently being studied by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at NIH. He works in concert with other healthcare providers here in Rhode Island: his work forms part of a multidimensional approach in addressing the psychological and embodied effects of trauma and chronic pain.
Evan has studied with Pat Archer ATC LMT at the Discoverypoint School of Massage in Seattle, WA. He has also trained with Cynthia Price PhD LMT, researcher at the University of Washington School of Nursing, in her Mindful Awareness Body-oriented Therapy program for trauma therapy bodywork. Evan’s course of study has included Myofascial Release, Dermo-Neuro Modulation, Neuromuscular techniques, and basic lymphatic drainage.
Evan is a lifelong Quaker from a coastal town in New England. Intrinsic to Quakerism is the practice of listening meditation; Evan’s bodywork supports us as we listen for the movements of our deeper selves.
