As owner of Breathing Time Yoga, Karen is dedicated to creating a community and space for healing through yoga. Karen is an educator, teaching the students what they need to know to practice and how to match the practices to their unique needs and interests.
Karen teaches weekly classes, workshops on a variety of topics, and works one on one with students in private yoga therapy sessions.
Karen has been practicing yoga in one form or another for the past 50 years. She began her study of the Viniyoga approach in 1994 with Gary Kraftsow of the American Viniyoga Institute (AVI). Viniyoga focuses on how yoga can be adapted to serve individual goals and needs. She is an AVI Yoga Teacher (500-hr) and AVI Certified Yoga Therapist. Karen also holds an MAT from RISD.
She is concerned with the intersection between Yoga and social justice, and hopes to develop her teaching practice alongside further study of Somatics, trauma, and human rights advocacy. She has taught Yoga as a volunteer at the Center for Hispanic Policy & Advocacy (Providence), The Dimock Center (Boston), & Girls Rock! RI.
Allie is a multi-disciplinary artist fascinated by resonance: whether in sound & speech, color & light, or the body electric. She is a recent graduate of Breathing Time's 2019 Viniyoga Teacher Training (RYT 200 hours).
David is passionate about restoring the larger promise of all yogic paths, Self-Realization. He has served as a Yoga Instructor, Mediation Teacher, Reiki Master, Whole Food Farmacist, Energy Healer, Kirtan Artist, and Spiritual Counselor to the South Coast Massachusetts and Rhode Island Communities. In 2016, David received his 200hr Yoga teacher training from Mt. Madonna Institute in California and has had the honor of teaching students from widely varying backgrounds.
Yoga has been practicing on David formally for 10 years! Living Yoga is the deeper invitation; that we may use our on the mat practice to inspire and remind ourselves of the wellspring of Peace that lies within, even in our day to day life. And from that contentment a desire to share our wholeness with others, that they too may be awakened within!
