Liz has been a teacher/coach/guide most of her
life. Pursuing the world of adaptive skiing in the late 70’s lead
to creation of our local Adaptive Ski/Snowboard program, and
becoming a trainer/examiner with PSIA, training instructors from
around the Rocky Mountains as well as in New Zealand. Earning
a Master of Science in Occupational therapy and specialty in
Sensory Integration, led her to her to discover “Yoga Calm”, and
the effect yoga has on the mind/body and entire nervous system.
Liz ventured to the Bihar World Yoga convention
in India with friends then began a life long journey studying the
science of yoga.
Liz is a graduate of the Kripalu Integrative Yoga
Therapy 800-hour Certification Program, earning a certification
with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
She began her training certifications with
Shambhala Yoga, YogaKids International, Satyananda Yoga Nidra, and
iRest Yoga Nidra. Additional Yoga Therapy studies include: Yoga for
Cancer Survivors, Yoga for Arthritis, Yoga for Parkinson’s, Yoga
for Low Back Pain, Reiki Level 1 and Qigong for Yoga.
Liz integrates her education and backgrounds
emphasizing overall health and wellness with gentle well rounded
yoga classes. She merges eastern and western philosophies, anatomy
and health science to help students experience physical,
mind/intellectual and emotional wellbeing. Variations/adaptations
are offered for postures and movements as well as breathing
techniques and mudra to regulate the nervous system with a goal to
improve overall health and wellness.
She teaches both adult & children’s community
classes as well as offers one on one private yoga therapy for
individual needs. She is also a Professional Ski Instructor of
America certified in both Alpine and Adaptive, and Adaptive
Trainer/Examiner Emeritus with PSIA-RM.
Liz believes yoga fits nicely into all activities
of daily living, sports, school, community, leisure, improving
overall health and wellness. Yoga has been a continuous journey of
learning and practice. She enjoys teaching all ages and abilities.
She brings a love and enthusiasm for yoga to her classes. Interests
also include alpine & backcountry skiing, hiking, nature and
photography.
