I love coming here! I always feel welcomed and never out of place. All of the instructors have reassured me that tho I am more new to yoga, I am doing well. I love how they encourage everyone that every body is different and if you are unable to do something one way- there is always another way! They truly make it so everyone can learn, enjoy & love yoga.
I began practicing yoga 20 years at age 18 in a community center purely for fitness. At first, yoga was a form of exercise I just really enjoyed and my complimented marathon trainings. As my practice evolved, and my experiences of the philosophies of yoga deepened, so too did my acceptance of what health, for my physical, emotional, and spiritual body looked and more specifically FELT like. As an RN with 13 years of cardiac experience and training in holistic health care, I am especially interested in the healing properties yoga offers to those suffering with chronic diseases, many of which are worsened by chronic pain and stress. I decided to do a teacher training, and completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Pure Yoga. My intention was to deepen my personal practice (of both yoga and nursing). I did not intend on teaching in a class setting. But from the first moment I started teaching, I absolutely loved it. It felt like bringing my love of nursing back to the core of healing. I am RYT 200, registered with Yoga Alliance. Yoga to me is equal parts empowerment and surrender, both connecting to and expanding from our inner world. Every time I step on my mat I learn something. I look forward to learning and practicing with you. Namaste!
