When I went to my first yoga class in 2005 I never knew what an impact it was going to make on my life. Soon after starting, I found Mary Ellen's studio and I became hooked on both the practice of yoga and the value of a heated class. I've found yoga to be the perfect complement to other sports like running, rowing and volleyball - being both challenging but also allowing the muscles to stretch and release. Also it has helped me begin to understand how the quality of your breath and the linking of breath to movement can focus and calm the mind and enhance any athletic endeavor. When something is bothering me, the mat has been a haven and a sanctuary I have been able to count on. I became a 200hr certified yoga instructor in May 2011.
