Ahimsa and their lovely teachers is a real gem in the city! It is a warm, inviting space that is open and accepting to all levels of ability, whether you’re a beginner trying yoga out, or a well practiced yogi. It has a special place in my heart :)
Nancy began practicing yoga at the age of 16 as a means of
healing injuries caused by competitive dance and years on the field
playing soccer. What she discovered was that the practice of yoga
was not only a means of maintaining physical fitness, but also
helped achieve mental clarity and reduced anxiety.
With a passion to share what she had learned, Nancy obtained
her 200hr yoga teaching certification in Hatha Yoga in 2012 under
the guidance of Allie Hill in Morocco. Her teaching brought her to
London, England where for nearly 4 years she taught regular classes
and workshops to every demographic from ballerinas to builders.
Later, Nancy obtained her 300hr Ashtanga Yoga certification in 2015
under the guidance of Kamal Singh and Sunil Sharma. Now living back
in Canada, Nancy is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her
passion for the practice with her fellow Canadians!
Nancy believes that the practice of yoga should be challenging
and growth-oriented, but most of all FUN! She aims to teach a
method that is accessible by all ages, bodies, levels of fitness
and levels of flexibility. She encourages her students to “be
brave!” and surprise themselves with how amazing their bodies can
be.
