This class changes my entire day, and night. I go into class hobbling, aching and stiff, and I leave feeling 20 years younger and pain free. What’s amazing is that limber feeling will stay with me all day. I love this class!
For more than 10 years I have been attending yoga classes throughout my community, while on vacation, and on the beach - definitely one of my favourites! Yoga has given me a priceless gift that continues to help me, both mentally and physically, be the best version of myself I can be. Yoga for me is about possibilities and potential, challenge and change. It's an ongoing process of discovery that continues to inspire and motivate me. I hope to guide students through their own practice in a way that honours their path, but introduces them to the possibilities they may not have yet discovered in themselves. I love a good sweaty Vinyasa class but equally enjoy the focus and challenge of Hatha. I'm especially fond of the Wall room at the Yogashala, and all that it offers to allow students to successfully open in a way that is not possible without the assistance of the ropes and slings. I have many mantras, but the one I come back to most often is “Pause, Soften, Let Go”. Life gets so crazy, let your mat be your shelter from the storm!
I completed my yoga teacher training with Barb Leese at the Yogashala and find so much joy in sharing my love of yoga with others. I am forever a student and continue to read and take additional training courses to further enhance what I can offer to students and grow my knowledge base in yoga theory, anatomy, philosophy, asana, alignment, breath work and meditation - there is always so much more to learn about the benefits and methods of connecting mind, body and breath.
