This class changes my entire day, and night. I go into class hobbling, aching and stiff, and I leave feeling 20 years younger and pain free. What’s amazing is that limber feeling will stay with me all day. I love this class!
Yoga is my self-care. It’s the place where I go to give me what I need on that day – whether it is to slow down, to soften, to reflect or to build strength and energize. It is the time I give myself when I am a student, but also the time I give to others when I teach.
I began teaching yoga in 2010 after completing my Hatha Yoga certification at Sheridan College. It came at a time when I needed something to balance out the harder practices I was involved in. I believe my guiding mission is to always be learning and growing and my teaching style is to lead from behind, to guide people to where they need to be, engaging my students by inviting their practice to go where it needs to take them, in that moment, on that day. I relish the growth I can facilitate for my students and have been able to observe the many benefits yoga bestows upon them.
I would describe myself as fearless, fun and a strong leader. I think others would say the same about me – plus that I am always up for a dance - anywhere, anytime. For this reason I think “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is a good theme song for me.
I have been fortunate in my life to have had teachers who have empowered and inspired me to be the teacher I am today…not only in the yoga studio but elsewhere. I believe my energetic spirit enables me to engage students of all ages and fitness levels. Come and join me for a class!
