My focus on health and wellness began through the practice of yoga and Pilates in 2010 after searching for new ways to stay active. Growing up as a competitive gymnast and diver, Iexperienced tolls on my joints and wanted to find a low impact exercise that I could do at home without requiring a lot of equipment. I love these modalities for the way they link breath to movement and for their ability to calm the nervous system while building strength.

After finishing an undergrad in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, I completed a yoga teaching certification (YTT200) in 2015 while travelling in Southeast Asia. Anatomy and mechanics have always been of huge importance to me in order to ensure safety and effectiveness of movement, and because of this I found myself drawn to teaching Pilates. I also wanted to find a manual approach that could complement all this knowledge I had gained in movement therapyNot only did the science behind Osteopathy so clearly align with the way I viewed health but the countless stories of its success made it an easy decision to pursue a formal education in the field. In 2016 I enrolled with the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and am currently completing my third year of the four year program.

I'm constantly searching for new approaches to connect with clients and help them obtain health by combining modalities of movement. I like to play with various approaches so that time spent with me leaves clients feeling healthier, stronger, and in less pain. I aim to share tools to use in everyday life so that sessions create new healthy habits in day-to-day living. Understanding that often the most difficult step to exercising is simply making the decision to do it, I aim to teach with a compassionate and supportive attitude. I see each person as a unique individual requiring fresh eyes and a blank slate in regards to what the body needs on any particular day. I love to experiment with different cues in order to evoke imagery within clients so that they can connect to the movement on a deeper level and have a better understanding of how and why their body is moving in a particular way.

I'm excited to work with clients of all different levels. I believe that I have as much to learn from my clients as they do from me and working with the public is a huge opportunity for further growth.
