this morning I took the 7:15 am yoga class with Joanna , it was the exact amount of strength, stretch and balance practice I needed today. I love how she adjust my body during the class, it is so important to have the right alignment. She is clear and explains so well what is being done , my new favorite part the hand stand , I usually am so scared of being upside down , I am uncomfortable doing it but with Joanna's help and technique with 2 blocks , it is so easy and painless !!!! I am most worried that her classes are going to be too busy very soon !!! Until then I am enjoying the semi private atmosphere ...thank you Shiva Yoga for reopening this yoga studio and making it look much better.
Chiara was born and raised in Italy. She then moved to London and later to Northern California, to deepen her theatrical studies. Finally, she moved to Los Angeles, where she discovered the passion for Health and Wellness that brought her to getting certified as a Holistic Nutritionist and Health Coach with the AFPA (American Fitness Professionals & Associates) and to start her Yoga journey. Chiara soon realized that along with her love for theatre and art, Yoga had become one of the most important things in her life. The light of Yoga lit deep into Chiara’s heart and brought her to become a Hatha Yoga RYT 200 Yoga Teacher, with her teacher, Stephanie Morrell (E-RYT 500, YACEP, 1000hrs with Sri Dharma Mittra). While Chiara mostly trained in Dharma Yoga, she also had the chance to study different types, branches and schools of yoga, like Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar, Anusara, Jivamukti, with extra attention on Ashtanga. During the training, Chiara expanded her knowledge of the history, philosophy and ethics of Yoga. Alongside Asana, Chiara has dedicated particular attention to Pranayama, studying and perfecting its many different breathing and meditation techniques. She has also dedicated extra regard to the practice of Dhyana (Meditation), due to her interest in the human mind. Chiara has been teaching in class and privately between LA and Italy. Her classes focus on the main and most original purpose of yoga: to increase awareness and raise one’s consciousness, quieting the mind. She is honored to be a vector of this ancient and wonderful practice and philosophy, and to keep learning together, as we are Yoga.
