Bhagavad Gita with Kelly Solloway
5 hours
Schedule: Saturday October 18th,
2025
12:30-5:30pm
5 CEUs or Included in 300 YTT
The Bhagavad Gita is considered one of the sacred texts of Hinduism and also of Yoga. There have been many translations and commentaries going back at least a millennium and up to this very day. With all that has been written on this relatively small piece of text, it becomes apparent that a lot is packed in to it. It takes place on the battlefield, just before the fight is to start. It is here Arjuna asks Krishna to tell him what to do, as he is at a loss and does not want to fight. What follow are the most sacred teachings of Yoga from Krishna himself. The Bhagavad Gita is found within the Mahabharata, a voluminous text. The Gita itself consists of only 700 verses divided into 18 chapters. In this session we will first set the scene on the battlefield and then make our way through the entire text. We will discuss the main themes of the text including Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga as the paths to Moksha (supreme joy).
Required Text: We encourage you to read it before the class, but this is not a requirement. Please bring any and all copies you may have of the Bhagavad Gita.
Investment: Included in 300 YTT Program or $125 individually
COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this teacher's community group we meet once a month for 12 months to discuss Yoga philosophy as it applies to modern life, practice, teach, give, and receive peer feedback.
Each monthly community group will begin with a one hour practice taught by one of our teachers and themed around the reading from that month. This is an opportunity to teach in a safe and supportive space or practice an aspect of teaching that is new to you amidst peers.
This is followed by teacher reflections and peer feedback. The last hour is an ethical discussion based on reading and homework which were assigned the month prior. Teachers will engage in conversations and explorations about bringing Yoga to life, and how to live and teach ethically and authentically.
There are 12 spaces to teach and receive peer feedback, and 3 spaces to participate through feedback and peer review (without teaching).

The 200-Hour YTT Aligned Flow® Yoga Teacher Training is rooted in creating a deep experiential understanding of the practice.
The foundation created in this 6 month training gives you the ability to connect with your students authentically and to hold an inclusive, safe space for them to come home to themselves. The Aligned Flow® physical practice combines Iyengar inspired alignment with the heating, flowing-with-the-breath sequencing which comes from the Vinyasa style. This method begins with Anatomy and Essential Actions, using props as tools applied to modify and vary each posture to support individual needs. Clear alignment cues and Intelligent Sequencing support you in finding your voice as a teacher as you weave the deeper themes of philosophy into your personal and teaching practice.
Yoga is meant to be applied to life, and in the true spirit of the word has the ability to unite and yoke us together. In this training, through a study of the practice and through the deeper work of Svadhyaya (self-study), you will gain confidence in sharing your passion and experience with your future students.
