The number of chronic diseases in 21st century United States is at an all time high and putting immense emotional, psychological, and financial stress on the economic, political and social structures that intersect our daily lives. As a response to this ever-growing reality, the ZenSpot Institute has created its first course in our new Green Yoga Program.

Starting from the Ground Up is an awareness building and activist orientated class that responds to this crisis and educates all that are interested in the direction of our planet and species. In this course students will discover that human health is directly linked to the health of our soil, and that we can do something about it. It will examine the importance of the microbiome in human health, the history of how our soil became depleted, the use of genetically modified organisms in our food system, and  different ways we can all make an impact on the future health of our soil and our bodies.

This introduction will open the door for how we can lead a life that is more in tune with nature, and how we can heal the body, mind, and spirit using the power within.
