Have you ever gone to an adult beginner ballet class, but discovered that everyone else there seems to already know what they are doing? Or that most of the people there are barely out of their teens?
Neither of these things will happen in our 12 week Introduction to Ballet course. Firstly, we really do have people in their 30s and beyond in our ballet classes. And we’ll start from the basics, and support you as you start to learn the French terminology, get used to standing in turnout, learn to hold yourself like a dancer, and train your body in the key movements and principles that form the foundation of all other ballet movements.
It’s a way for adults to learn ballet that won’t make you feel self-conscious about your age, size, or lack of experience. Everyone else in the class will be in the same position as you, learning ballet for the first time.
Your teacher will be a specialist in teaching ballet to adults, which means you won’t be asked to do something that is harmful to your body, you won’t be expected to wear revealing clothes that make you uncomfortable, and you’ll be treated like an individual who has their own dreams, goals and aspirations.
At the end of the 12 weeks, you’ll never have to be afraid of being the only novice in a ballet class again. You’ll be ready to step into one of our Level 2 ballet classes, or you could attend an ongoing beginner ballet class anywhere and hold your own.
