Description

Work on your inversion game!! Since it looks like we’re home for another little while, let’s take this time to get strong and make real progress in our inversion practice!

This workshop series if perfect for beginners to inversions as well as more seasoned students. Join SoulPlay Flight Squad (that’s you!) in breaking down the fundamentals of inversions and take quality time to work on flipping your perspective upside down and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable!

Each class will be recorded and available in a special section of the on-demand library. You will have access to this FOR LIFE and will be able to revisit it and re-train it anytime.

This series includes:

  • 4 weeks of live training with 90 minute zoom classes

  • WhatsApp group to chat with the community about progress, wins and face-plants during the week in between meetings

  • Lifetime access to the class recordings through a members-only section of the on-demand library

  • Cheat Sheet of pose alignment points for every pose we learn so you can refer to it anytime!

CURRICULUM

WEEK 1: FUNDAMENTALS OF INVERSIONS

- Hand activation review
- Shoulder prep - warmup, strengthening & opening
- Wrist activation
- Core & warmups based on the inversion you’re training
- Joint stacking


WEEK 2: HEADSTANDS A & B

 Headstand is the gateway inversion! While it’s technically true that forward fold, downward dog and dolphin pose are also inversions because your heart is above your head, headstand is the first free-standing inversion most of us will learn.
We will cover best practices, variations, entrances and exits, modifications, accessibility tips & tricks to start taking your practice upside down.

If you have a neck injury or some reason why you should not be placing weight on your head, you can still learn the fundamentals and practice for your forearm stand - there are ways around placing weight on your head!

WEEK 3: HANDSTAND & VARIATIONS

- Handstand at the wall and moving away from the wall
- Stag legs/split legs
- Kicking up versus working towards pressing up
- Scorpion handstand
- Exit strategies that eliminate fear

 

WEEK 4: FOREARM STAND & VARIATIONS

- Using props to assist
- Finding Funky pincha
- Scorpion
- Chin Stand
