A VIRTUAL after-school activity for the Whole Family.
Families! Victoria Cummings & Janie Ganga want to invite YOU & your kids to go on an awesome 4-week journey with them!!!
Each week, we’ll imagine traveling to a new fascinating destination. We’ll learn about the culture & play with yoga poses & animal shapes living in that region. We’ll yoga-dance to music inspired by that place. And we’ll go inward with an easy fun guided Mediation that’s geared toward ages 6 and up.
2/25: India- home of yoga
3/4: African Savanna
3/11: Carnival of Brazil
3/18: Beaches of Hawaii
Yoga is the ancient practice of combining breath & movement to connect with the body & calm the mind & emotions. This playful Yoga class is designed to increase flexibility, improve motor skills, develop balance, & teach children tools to manage their emotions (from anxiety to depression & everything in between).
Yoga Poses & Yoga-Dance will help all of us to discover both our own inner silliness & our own amazing strengths. Then the guided relaxation in a Kid-specific Yoga Nidra meditation uses visualization & breathing techniques to calm the central nervous system & promote inner/outer healing. Yoga Nidra is one of the best ways to reduce anxiety, release stress, & improve sleep quality!
Caregivers, Parents, and Teens are highly encouraged to participate – modeling for younger kids how you also can be silly, move & stretch your body, and then be very still & relax.
We are so excited to take you on this magical journey from the comfort of your home!!!

FAQ: What’s the age restriction? It is requested that at least one child be at least 6 yrs old. However if there is a younger sibling that would like to join, we encourage that! It is encourage for parents & caregivers to participate. The price is per household and not per person, but all participants must be family.
Do I have to attend with my child? If the child is able to participate in a Zoom session on their own, that’s probably fine. But the benefits of Yoga Nidra will be multiplied if you practice together!
What kind of props do I need? A yoga mat & a few blankets is usually enough. If kids need padding under the head, try a folded blanket (so their neck is in line with spine). Let Kids have what they need to feel comfy & cozy – stuffed animals, toys, etc. Help support their meditation practice by empowering them to set up their space. For grown ups, you may want support under the knees to neutralize the low back – an extra rolled-up yoga mat, a few blocks & a towel, or bolster if you have one. You want to be comfy, too.
What is Yoga Nidra? It’s a guided meditation technique that uses Breath, Mindfulness, and Visualization techniques to allow the mind to relax and the body to heal. Repeating the practice has been shown to have positive impacts on brain development and mental/emotional health. I AM Yoga Nidra for Kids is adapted from the Integrated Amrit Method of (I AM) Yoga Nidra - developed in the 1980s, based on ancient yogic teachings. Janie Ganga has been leading Yoga Nidra since 2015.
