Traditionally bandhas are powerful advanced pranayama practices that were done for the purpose of affecting your body’s subtle energy. In modern yoga practices “bandha-like” movements are often invoked to stimulate the physical body. In this workshop you will be introduced to the energetic models that these techniques are built on. You will also practice asana, pranayama, and meditation to invite awareness to the three main bandhas.
Additional resources will be provided to participants. This class will be led by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institute. Kim has her doctorate in Health Education and has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of specialty populations.
