Fall is a great time to do a cleanse. As the temperatures drop and nature prepares to hunker down for the winter, our bodies have a tendency to do the same. The cold dry environment can wreak havoc on our skin, digestion and energy and it is a good idea to slow down, cleanse, re-establish healthy eating and lifestyle habits and prepare for this time of year.
During this simple, whole foods, 15 day cleanse you will learn ayurvedic and yogic practices to reduce anxiety, improve digestion and elimination and boost your immunity. This is not a fast, and although you are likely to lose weight, that isn't the focus of this practice. It is designed to improve your mental, physical and emotional health.
In Ayurveda, digestion is the key to health. We must eat good food, digest it efficiently and eliminate the waste with ease. If any of these are compromised, our health can be affected. Stress can wreak havoc on our digestive system and our immune system. Right now, in the midst of a pandemic, it is wise to make changes to our diet and lifestyles to improve our overall health and in particular our immune system.
Join Kerry Walker, a certified Yoga Movement Therapist and student of Ayurveda for this educational cleanse. She has designed it specifically for these stressful times and made sure that it is easy to follow and involves lots of calming self care. Ayurveda can seem overwhelming at first but it is really all about paying attention to how you feel and responding to this information. During this cleanse we keep things simple. No one needs additional stress right now. We need to feel light, energetic and clear of mind.
The cleanse has three phases and the group will meet through Zoom 4 times to learn, talk, ask questions and support one another through each of these phases. These meetings will take place on October 18, 24, 29 and November 3. The cleanse is explained in detail during the first meeting and handouts will be emailed to participants.
