Let's undo the rounding of the back!! Let's unlearn harmful postures and relearn the postures for healthy back and spine
What is this workshop about?
Backbends are among the most energising and exhilarating of the yoga asana groups and are possibly the postures that create the most openness and freedom in the physical body.
Modern life can create slightly “rounded” upper backs due to sitting too long slouched over a desk, looking at phones etc. Backbends stretch and expand the chest, helping to create freer, deeper breathing and also creating strength in all the muscles in the back to improve posture.
In this workshop, we will start by warming up the spine safely and explore backbends in more detail including tips to improve flexibility, balance and strength. We will also learn how to go deeper into backbends resulting in a healthier spine and greater flexibility overall. There will be chances to ask questions too. This workshop is available to ALL levels.
Who is Heidi?
Heidi trained with Bikram for Hot Yoga and has 22+ years of experience teaching yoga. She is into fitness and yoga and teaches Hot Yoga and Hot HIIT Yoga with Yoga Hook. She has been practising backbends for years now and finds most backs can benefit from this routine of backbending.- Subtotal:
