In “Tango of the Masks,” we explore the dramatic, passionate world of Argentine Tango—a dance where connection is everything, and the deepest secrets are shared without a single word. This class is about learning the intricate “secrets” of the lead and follow, so you can step into the “spotlight” of the dance floor with confidence and artistry.

This class uses the “mask” as a metaphor for shedding inhibitions and focusing purely on the feeling and connection of the dance. Each week, you'll delve into the core elements of authentic Argentine Tango: the embrace (abrazo), the walk (caminata), and the intricate figures that make this dance so captivating. We focus on the improvisational nature of tango, teaching you to create a spontaneous dialogue with your partner, led by the music.

This class is open to all who are drawn to the mystery and passion of Tango. No partner is necessary to join, and beginners are warmly welcomed. We ask only that you come with an open mind, ready to connect, explore, and dance.
