Aerial Sling is a dynamic apparatus that is an aerial silk tied into a long hammock. This unique class allows students to utilize the hammock to climb, wrap and tie around the body to create fun poses, entrances and exits, transitions, small drops and dance movement.
Sling 1 class is for those who have never touched a sling before! We will go over inversions, wraps, and slow controlled movements that integrate with Sling theory. This class perfectly complements any acrobatic, pole, or aerial training. We will also work on building core and body awareness in the air. Sling (also called hammock) is perfect for those just looking to get into the air for the first time.
(Note: Aerial Sling is different from Aerial yoga but there are some similarities. They both utilize a silks hammock and are single point apparatus. The Aerial Sling class focuses more on continuous movement in the air and hammock while using a swivel to spin. Aerial Yoga classes uses a combination of grounding poses with the hammock to assist and remains static. Silks theory is covered in both curriculums. Sling is a traditional aerial apparatus and aerial yoga is a yoga practice designed around the hammock.)
