This series will work on stringing moves together in ways that are logical, efficient, artistic, and sometimes all of the above.

In addition to learning strategies for move combinations, we'll also be looking at ground work and ornamental flairs. It's the difference between silks being a fun and engaging form of exercise, and silks being all that plus an inspiring performance medium.

The "intermediate" in the title refers to the level of moves we'll be working with. Participants should be comfortable with climbing, and inverting from the ground (in the air is even better, but not required). This will also be an exercise in endurance- it takes a lot more energy to do a bunch of things in a row than one at a time! You may end up learning new vocabulary, but anticipate mostly going over things you're already familiar with and discovering how to string it all together.

If you're thinking, "oh, no, I can't possibly be experienced or good enough to start working on performance," great news- you're wrong! :D This class won't be culminating in a public performance, although you are encouraged to document your progress along the way. Also, if you're at all interested in taking silks from being fun and engaging exercise to being that plus an inspiring form of expression, then you're ready.
