Me Time is an offering for patients in one of our Wellness Programs.
Welcome to Me Time ~ My Time
We are providing some super practical mindful movement as part of your Journey to Wellness Program Package. Please join Jackie Kaufman on Thursday evenings for a guided session in our studio space or via Zoom if you are not local. Our studio has plenty of space to comfortably distance and mats & props will be sanitized. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for gentle stretching and makes you feel soft and cozy. Our time together will be non intimidating and you will be able to continue this practice at home.
As we are all going through similar things and sharing this journey together; we will learn:
- to check in with our bodies
- the importance of finding our breath
- to trust the knowing that we always have access to our breath
- to sit in quiet stillness
- to be present in the moment
- to activate our parasympathetic nervous system to combat stress
In our fast paced world, we seldom find a state of rest for ourselves. We often add more to our plates without slowing down, or we restore and then go back to doing the things that brought us to our stressed state. We often live in a constant stress cycle which can lead to a state of overwhelm, which often leads to burnout. This takes such a toll on our wellbeing.
This practice will allow you to use movement to move energy through the body in order to settle into a mindful practice. This is a practice, meaning it’s not always easy to sit and be present and will often be difficult.
We will learn to be present in the moment. When we learn to slow down and take notice of all there is here and now, we can release judgements of the past and present.
Each class will begin with some mindful movement, breathwork as we tap into the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic nervous system to calm and settle ourselves into our seat for guided mindfulness/visualization/meditation.
Learn how to integrate this practice into your daily life. You will notice how with practice you will be able to ground and use your breath in stressful situations, activate your body’s parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) and reduce stress/anxiety, help digestion, improve metabolism, and increase your ability to concentrate. This practice promotes self healing.
Meet you on the mat,
Jackie
