Prenatal Yoga & Pilates creates an awareness of your mind, body, breath and the spirit of the baby. This makes it ideal preparation for the birth of your baby. Many mothers take the movement, breathwork and meditation learnt in class into their labour and delivery. Pilates and Yoga go hand in hand, one for breath and opening the body, the other for strength and mobility.
Breathing practice during pregnancy opens the chest and helps to improve circulation in mother and baby. It also calms the nerves and hopefully gives the mother greater control of breathing during labour.
Community is the foundation of the series, bringing mamas together to connect and share their experiences. Whether it is the experience of the class or pregnancy, space is made to share and connect with one another.
Strength is developed physically and emotionally. Pilates allows us to explore movement that will help create a healthy pelvic floor, strengthen our core and hips. The intention is to prepare the body for the birthing experience.
This is a 4 week series, where we will meet for 1 hour and 15 minutes a week. Giving us time to share, move and discover together.
