Prenatal Yoga Course
Jul 31, 2021 - Aug 28, 2021

5 Week Prenatal Yoga Course
Starts Sat 31 July | 10-11:15am | Bright Yoga Space

Pregnancy is a time of change. A woman’s body has to grow and adapt to carry a baby, hormones change affecting flexibility and emotions, and the whole family needs to prepare to birth and raise a new life.

Prenatal yoga helps to build physical and mental strength for an active labour, as well as relieving aches and pains associated with the extra pressure pregnancy puts on a woman’s body. The breathing and mindfulness meditation techniques also help to prepare a woman for birth and becoming a parent.

In this 5-week course (limited to only 10 women) participants will be guided through a variety of movements, poses, pranayama and meditations focussing on:

  • Modifications of poses to suit the pregnant body at different stages
  • Building strength and stability to support a growing belly
  • Pelvic floor awareness
  • Improving circulation and digestion
  • Developing a strong connection with baby
  • Relaxing and nourishing postures
  • Birth preparation
  • Mindful parenting practice
  •

As well as weekly classes you will also be supported with access to reading materials, guided meditations and home practice ideas to fully prepare you for birth and the becoming a mother!

This course is suitable for any stage of pregnancy although it is recommended that you contact us prior to registering if you are in the first trimester and have not practiced yoga before. No experience of yoga is required but modifications will be provided for all levels, stages and energy on each day.

** If you are only able to attend some of the course or if you would really like to attend but the cost is prohibitive please also contact us to discuss possible payment options. **

CASUAL CLASSES may be available for $25 per class.

Emily’s prenatal yoga was perfect for me as an expecting mum. Her knowledge of safe and appropriate postures and mindfulness techniques was excellent and provided me with the balance I needed as part of my week. The combination of both flow movements and restorative poses was ideal. Thank you so much Emily

The New Moon is such a powerful time to come together as a community!

We have a different theme each month, guided by the astrological position of the moon.

The New Moon Sister Circle, hosted by Kylie, is all about connecting, checking in with, and holding space for each other, so we can align our actions & rise together in sisterhood. This is our sacred space for sisterhood connection.

If you are a woman, or identify as one, you are welcome here, to be seen and be heard, exactly as you are.

Restorative Yoga - Mini Retreat (August)
Aug 8, 2021 - Aug 8, 2021

Restore yourself.

We all know that when we look after ourselves we are better able to serve those that need us. But how often do we carve out that time for ourselves?

Do you sometimes feel like you are pulled in different directions, out of balance, stressed, exhausted and disconnected? We all so often do whether it is through juggling parenting, work, illness, study (or all of the above) and we very rarely commit to recharging our batteries.

Restorative yoga is a way of resetting the system, quieting the mind and nourishing the body.

Each shape is held for at least five minutes and props, such as bolsters and blankets, are used to support the body in the most comfortable position possible so that it can completely relax and let go. Gentle and supported twists, forward bends, backbends and inversions are practiced with modifications provided for individual needs.

Poetry, readings and mindfulness tools will be provided for self-inquiry, finishing with guided yoga nidra for deep relaxation. The session will conclude with a sharing circle and an opportunity to connect with the group.

This practice is suitable for all levels and conditions and is particularly suitable for people with busy and stressful lives as a way of taking time to be still and rest or for people dealing with illness. The emphasis is on being rather than doing.

A special treat of bliss balls and home blended herbal tea will finish off a truly nourishing afternoon.

Community Gathering
Aug 25, 2021 - Oct 20, 2021

Let's gather together each month under the energy of the Full Moon for a evening of connecting, Kirtan (chanting), dance, meditation, tea, snacks and a little bit of ceremony!

Trace all of our ancestral roots back and you'll likely find that we have come together during these times of natures cycles to honour the event and celebrate. It's a great opportunity to connect as a community, take some time to set intention and share together.

Each month we will explore a different theme for these events and we will be inviting members of our community to come and share their gifts and craft too.

We hope you can join this fun and social gathering of our Bright Yoga Space community.

This event is FREE for our Members, donations are welcome from others to support our guest facilitators and/or a cause close to our hearts (details will be provided closer to each event).
