Time to Spring into action and celebrate a day with equal parts sun and moon! Let's start blooming!
Join Katie in celebrating the New Spring Season by embracing release through gentle playful somatic yoga (a type of yoga movement designed to release stored stressed emotions in the body) and breath-work to relax your nervous system. Rest into a relaxing sound meditation with Wind Chimes and Crystal Singing Bowls followed by pulling an Earth Spirit Oracle card to set the mood for coming out of hibernation and embracing rejuvenation! Stay for some spring tea, fruits, crackers and dip.
This is a 6-week
course that costs $80 and meets on Tuesdays from
4:00–5:00 PM, running from March 24 through April
28. A drop-in rate of $18 is available for the first two
classes (March 24 and March 31) for new students, and for any class
for returning students. This policy helps ensure that new students
learn the full sequence of movements in the proper order before
joining later sessions.
Experience “serenity in the midst of activity” as we practice 19 gentle, fluid movements and 1 pose in the non-martial art of T'ai Chi Chih, a moving meditation. Originated in 1974 by an American, Justin Stone, these movements can be performed by individuals of most any age, ability, or condition; while standing or sitting.
T'ai Chi Chih is for:
-Seniors or people with physical limitations.
-Beginners who want an easy entry point to energy work or meditative movement.
-Anyone seeking stress relief, better balance, and a sense of inner calm.
-People who want the benefits of T’ai Chi without martial training.
Some of the many reported benefits include stress reduction, increased energy, improved balance, mental alertness, and enhanced creativity. Scientific studies have shown that T'ai Chi Chih has boosted the immune system response of the elderly, reduced anxiety, reduced depression, and relieved pain. No experience or special attire is needed. All are welcome!
