Meditation Can Change Your Life Series (6 Sessions)

According to Buddha, there are three primary causes of human suffering: ignorance, attachment, and aversion. In this meditation series, we will reflect upon these sources of suffering, evaluate their impacts in our lives, and practice mediation techniques specifically designed to alleviate these causes of suffering.

This series of six Wednesday evening sessions will be taught by Beth Caniglia. The serie's classes, entitled 'Meditation Can Change Your Life', will occur every month. The Class Schedule includes the following Dates, Topics, and Meditation Practices:

- 1/21/26, Meditation Basics & Understanding Ignorance, RAIN

- 2/18/26, Deeper Understanding of the Self, Chakra Meditation

- 3/18/26, Attachment, Mantra Meditation

- 5/13/26, Aversion, Loving-Kindness

- 6/24/26, Aversion, Samatha Meditation & Mindfulness

The meditation series will take place in the Light System room with the amazing Bio-ScalarEnergy!

The cost is $35 per person for individual sessions or $175 per person for the series of six sessions. Sessions are pre-paid. There is a minimum 24-hour cancellation policy.

Beth Caniglia is an environmental sociologist by training and worked as a tenured professor for twenty years. Building on decades of consulting work with policy organizations, such as the United Nations, the government of South Aftrica, and several municipalities, Beth currently provides policy analysis and research consulting for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, advancing protection of human health and the environment.

Dr. Caniglia's personal journey has been deeply enhanced by her practice and studies in meditation and yoga - a quest she has pursued for neraly thirty years. She has studied Sanskrit and immersed herself in an array of meditation paths, working with chakras, mantras, yogie meditation, and a variety of Buddhist meditation practices. Today, drawing from Buddhist, Hindu, and Mindfulness traditions, Beth offers meditation instruction for individuals, groups, and organizations.

Laughter Wellness for Children

WHAT IS LAUGHTER WELLNESS?

 

Laughter wellness is a practice of structured therapeutic techniques combining warm-ups (clapping, stretching, breathing), childlike play and movements, while providing a safe environment and outlet for children to release energy and emotions.
 
It is important to let children know that it is okay if the laughter feels forced or awkward at first; the goal is to play and let go. The natural laughter will follow.

 

COMMON STEPS TO A SESSION INCLUDE:

1. Warm-up: Clapping, belly breathing, gentle stretching, and playful movements.

2. Laughter Exercises: Improvisational and simulated laughter.

3.
All Laughter: A period of laughter, allowing and holding space for spontaneous laughter.

4.Grounding Activity: Grounding session for relaxation and cool down. Samples of grounding techniques are mindful and rhythmic movements.

Laughter provides significant physical, emotional and cognitive benefits for children, acting as a natural tool for development, stress relief, and social bonding.
