Beginner 1 level description:
This course is ideal for individuals who have never studied Mandarin Chinese before or those who wish to start from scratch. Throughout this level, you will acquire fundamental language skills and knowledge.
Here's an overview of the topics covered in Beginner 1:
Objective: The course is to provide students the most basic skills in studying Mandarin; to understand the differences between traditional and simplified characters and the benefits and disadvantages of both, to master the pronunciation,
Learning Outcome: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to pronounce Mandarin correctly, including tones.
Grammar: Chinese pronunciation system, surnames and full names, basic and ordinal numbers, particles — “de” “ma” “ne”, nationalities, greetings and introductions.

MANDARIN BEGINNER 2. The SECOND segment of the comprehensive Beginner level five-course series designed for Mandarin beginners.
An all-adults class.

Beginner 2 level description:
This is the perfect course for individuals who have either completed our Mandarin Beginner 1 course or have some minimal experience with the Mandarin language. We'll help you build upon your existing knowledge and skills to further develop your Mandarin proficiency.
Here's an overview of the topics covered in Beginner 2:
Objective: The course is to provide students the most basic skills in studying Mandarin; to understand the differences between traditional and simplified characters and the benefits and disadvantages of both, to master the pronunciation,
Learning Outcome: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to read and write around 100 words, introduce oneself or others, exchange greetings, ask about someone's nationality, talk about family members, ask about someone's profession, express time, dates and age, arrange a date or an appointment, and invite someone to a dinner or movie.
Grammar: Measure words, question pronouns, dates and time.
