Nervous System–Informed Teaching
A 4-Hour Professional Development Workshop for Movement Professionals
Led by Brooke Jensen (AT, NRCP), this session will introduce practical ways to integrate nervous system awareness into your classes, sessions, and coaching environments. Through discussion, examples, and applied strategies, participants will learn how programming decisions, environmental factors, language, load, and variability influence how clients experience movement and respond to challenge.
Rather than relying solely on cues and repetition, nervous system–informed teaching encourages instructors to observe, adapt, and create conditions where clients can regulate, explore, and progress more effectively.
Participants
will leave with practical tools to:
•
Recognize different nervous system states in
clients
•
Adjust exercise selection, load, and variability to support
regulation and learning
• Use
language and coaching strategies that enhance safety, autonomy, and
adaptability
•
Create movement environments that encourage exploration and
resilience
This workshop is designed for movement professionals who want to deepen their teaching practice, support diverse nervous system responses, and move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to movement education.
Ideal for:
Pilates
instructors, yoga teachers, dance educators, personal trainers,
strength & conditioning coaches.
