Unlock one of pole’s most dramatic shapes by exploring the strength, mobility, and control behind a clean, safe spatchcock. This workshop focuses on compression, forward folding, active flexibility, and straddle mechanics to help you understand what your body needs before taking the skill into the air.
You’ll begin on the ground by breaking down the required mobility and testing your current range of motion. From there, you'll work through multiple entry pathways into spatchcock and take advantage of our studio’s 13-foot poles, blocks, and peanuts to support your progress and alignment.
Level: 3
Recommended Experience:
Participants should have inversion experience — either comfortably
ascending or descending
into an inversion.
What to Expect:
-
Mobility testing + activation
-
Compression drills and forward-fold progressions
-
Straddle conditioning for the final shape
-
Several pathways into spatchcock
-
Use of studio blocks, peanuts, and up to 13ft on the poles
Dress Code:
Students should wear shorts or sticky leggings if they want to
attempt the full move. Layers are welcome for the warm-up, but skin
or grip leggings will be needed for secure contact.
