Commercial Jazz Funk Progressive with Lauren

Get ready to move, sweat, strut, and sing along to your favourite pop tracks in this empowering, high energy, good vibes class. Inspired by Lauren’s time performing and working in TV, film, music and stage, along with her love for pop, Commercial Jazz Funk is a choreography class that aims to bring the feeling of dancing on stage to the studio. Class consists of a short but thorough warm-up and stretch, followed by a refreshed and fun dance combo that you'll progressively add to over the 4 weeks. Class is for everyone and Lauren passionately promotes movement exploration and self-expression for all – featuring lots of booty dips and hair whips. Come dance!

About Lauren:
Lauren (she/her) has worked in arts & entertainment for over 15 years as a performer,
choreographer, movement coach and program director. She has trained in Vancouver, LA and overseas, and worked across Canada in TV, film, music, commercials and stage spanning genres from Cabaret to Tap to Commercial Jazz Funk. Lauren brings both technical expertise and creative vision to her work, whether coaching developing artists or creating original choreography. She is passionate about empowering dancers throug self-expression, challenging them to evolve, and cultivating a training environment rooted in exploration, community, and inclusivity.

Pole Geometry Lab with Natasha Wang

Dive into Natasha Wang’s signature style, packed with yoga-inspired shapes, grip variations, threading, and twisty shapes and combos. This workshop will challenge you to explore movement in new ways and get playfully “tied up” in the process. We’ll work on both spin and static poles to keep things dynamic.

Pre-Requisites: Inside & Outside Leg Hang, Brass Monkey, Jamilla
Level: Intermediate–Advanced (must be confidant in 404)

Natasha Wang is an international pole teacher, performer, and competition judge, known for inspiring dancers to move with strength, creativity, and joy. She discovered pole at 30 and quickly rose to become one of the icons of the pole world. Natasha is the founder of Poletica Movement, an on-demand platform that empowers pole dancers to unlock their potential through movement they love. Her live and virtual classes seamlessly blend pole, yoga, fitness, and creative movement—helping students reach their goals while having fun every step of the way.

As a competitive pole athlete, Natasha’s accolades are extensive: IPC Pole Art Champion (2018), IPC Ultimate Champion (2013), Pole Art Runner-Up (2012), US Pole Dance Champion (2011), USPDF West Coast Champion (2010), California Pole Dance Champion (2010), and East Meets West Miss Pole-AM (2010). In 2015, she was named “Instructor of the Year” by the International Pole Dance Fitness Association.

Natasha’s artistry has reached global audiences. She has appeared on
“The View” (ABC), “Good Day L.A.” (FOX), “Amazing Dance” (Hunan TV),
and “Day Day Up” (Hunan TV, China’s #1 TV show, 300M+ viewers). She
has toured China as a solo artist, including a 30-show residency at China
Rouge in the Galaxy Macau Hotel & Casino, and in 2011 performed in
Doug Aitken’s art-theater project “Black Mirror” alongside Chloe Sevigny,
which premiered in Athens and Hydra, Greece.
