Join Amelia for a slow flow and restorative-style class benefitting UVA Breast Cancer Center. Perfect for after the 23rd Annual Race to Beat Breast Cancer 5k the day prior, we will focus on feel-good movement and stretching in the first 45 minutes of class ending with 2-3 restorative poses encouraging deep rest. This is an all-levels class and no yoga experience is necessary. As with every class with Amelia, there will be options to get a little spicy if your body is wanting a little extra. Amelia completed her restorative yoga training in February 2024, and recently finished her RYT 200 hour yoga certification in June 2025.
In February of 2025, Amelia was diagnosed wwith Stage 4 Breast Cancer with HER2 positive receptor only a month after turning 30. She completee chemo in June, but continues to go for immunotherapy treatment every 3 weeks. She has been thankful for the UVA doctors, nurses, and personnel who have made this as smooth of a transition as possible. Give $1 or give $10, but all donations will be going directly to UVA Breast Cancer Center.
Exploring Vinyasa - 9 week limited series
Join Sarah for a special, 9-session, vinyasa-style class meeting this fall. Meeting 3 weeks each in September, October and November, participants are invited to arrive with their curiosity and their yoga mat in tow - ready to ponder new concepts, flow in creative ways, and explore both familiar and (perhaps) some new-to-you asanas. Classes will build on each other in a 3 week cycle (weeks 1,2,3, weeks 4,5,6, and weeks 7,8,9), so participants are encouraged to sign up accordingly, although it will be possible to sign up for single sessions as well. All levels are welcome and variations and modifications will be offered throughout. Some prior yoga experience may be helpful.
Class times: Thursdays at 7 pm
Class dates: September 11, 18, 25. October 9, 16, 23. November 6, 13, 20.
$30 per person
