Community Kirtan, Meditation, Sharing Circle and Vegetarian Potluck Dinner
Join Chumki Chakraborty of Moss and Moksha for a heart-centered
evening of connection, sound, and shared energy at the Elizabeth
Mind and Movement Studio in Beaverton.
This event is donation based, $10-$35 suggested to help with
studio, food and other expenses. You can support the effort by
using my
venmo link or bring cash or use the elizabeth portal.
This is an invitation to come together in a supportive community
space for an evening of kirtan (chanting), meditati<wbr />on, and a
sharing circle. This is a beautiful opportunity to uplift your
spirit, center yourself, and connect with others through the power
of sound and mindful conversation.
Bring your voice, your presence, and your openness to share or
simply receive the healing energy of the circle. Feel free to bring
a dish to share for a potluck, nourishing both body and soul as we
bond over good food and loving conversation.
Details:
- Kirtan: Let the chanting elevate your heart and mind.
- Meditation: Find peace and clarity within.
- Sharing Circle: Share your thoughts, intentions, or simply listen.
- Potluck: If you feel called, bring a dish to share and join in the communal nourishment.
This is a space where all are welcome. No prior experience with
meditation, singing, chanting needed. Come as you are, and share in
this sacred circle of community.
What is Kirtan
Kirtan music is an ancient practice in Yoga that can bring powerful spiritual effects, and is part of a practice known as Bhakti Yoga. Kirtan songs are made up of sacred sounds and have a call-and-response style, where one person sings a line, and another repeats it back, making it perfect for community. It can be sung by anyone! It’s less about sounding perfect, and more about the feeling of lovingness, community and celebration.
What to expect
Chumki will be leading the Kirtan and will bring some drums and shakers for everyone to share and use. Yoga mats and bolsters are available to seat, you can bring your own floor chairs if you wish.
Chumki will bring some cooked vegeterian glutenfree food to share with the community. Please feel free to bring something vegeterian (meat/fish free)/vegan you would like to share!
