This childbirth class is designed to prepare families for the birth they desire in any setting and with any provider. The course happens over five consecutive weeks. We will cover: establishing your birth support team, different birth locations, identifying your birth preferences, the mechanics of birth, setting up your birth space, non-medicinal coping techniques, interventions (including a backup cesarean plan), and preparing for a successful transition into life with baby.
Birth Partners are encouraged to attend.
MomParts Salons are a supportive space for moms to process and integrate the more challenging (and normal) parts of self that arise in motherhood. Overwhelmed? Anxious? Frustrated? Come find compassion and clarity in a connected space with other moms. All parts and stages of motherhood welcome. Facilitated by Darcy Cavanaugh, MA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Connect with other dads and dive into ways you can nurture the key relationships in your life: your relationship to self, relationship with partner or co-parent, relationship with your child(ren), and your relationship with a family of origin.

This course covers:
-The stages of labor: what is happening in the body & how to
support clients through each step
-Comfort measures: hands-on practice with different positions
-Medical options & interventions: learn about common
interventions, medical tools (how and when they are used)
-Lactation education: An IBCLC will teach you about the process of
breastfeeding and how to support clients as they learn this
challenging skill
-Early postpartum support: what clients need in the early days
& weeks, signs and symptoms to look out for
What is included:
-16 hours of in-person doula & lactation education
-Custom, in-depth curriculum booklet with worksheets you can use to
support future clients
-Optional one-on-one mentorship opportunities
-Access to our doula trainee Facebook group
Who is eligible:
Anyone who is interested in supporting birthing families is
eligible to join! We especially encourage bilingual folks, as there
is a great need for multi-lingual birth support in our
community.
