Elevate your performance from the studio floor to the main stage. This workshop is a deep dive into the high-stakes world of professional touring showgirl stage performance. Designed specifically for Intermediate and Advanced dancers, Tempest—a decade-long veteran of the BC circuit and published performance scholar—strips away the fluff to focus on the technical mechanics of “The Big Show.”

We are moving past the basics. This is about power, presence, and the physics of crowd-pleasing movement.

Technical Focus & Performance Strategy:

• The “Stage-Ready” Combo: Master high-impact, technique-informed sequences designed to translate to large rooms. We’ll focus on maintaining clean lines and “wow-factor” momentum while managing the variables of a live stage.
• The Art of the Reveal: A masterclass in technical costuming. We will break down the precise timing and “theatrics of the take-off” for seamless layer removal.
• Show Structuralism: Move beyond 1-song sets. Tempest will provide a breakdown of club show organization (Half vs. Full shows), teaching you how to pace your stamina and “peak” your tricks for maximum audience impact.
• “Make-it-Rain” Mechanics: Learn the specific movements that drive audience engagement and financial appreciation, integrated into a seamless, high-level flow.
• The Psychological Edge: Leveraging her Master’s research, Tempest integrates the “flow state” into performance, helping you unlock a level of stage confidence that is grounded in both physical skill and mental prep.

Participant Requirements:

• Level: Intermediate/Advanced. (Comfort with moves like brass monkey and jade split is recommended to get the most out of the workshop).
• Attire: Layers are encouraged! Bring a robe, or removable top to practice the technical reveals. Please note: This is a “top-layer only” reveal workshop—no nudity.

Tempest is a “Show Pony with a Master’s Degree.” A touring showgirl, award-winning dancer, and published writer, she bridges the gap between academic theory and the raw energy of the club. In 2025, she published her groundbreaking thesis on the mental health benefits of skripping for spicy workers. Tempest brings a unique, holistic, and empowered perspective to every class she leads.
