Just had my first class here with Stella “All Levels Flow” and I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for more! Highly recommend.
For over 30 years I worked as a software Engineer sitting in front of a computer all day. In addition to working full-time, I raised 2 children with my husband. My family was my priority, not my body nor exercise. I walked daily and rode my bike periodically, but over time my muscles became tight causing pain in my back, neck, hips and foot. I knew my core was weak and I needed to start stretching.
I found a yoga studio near my job and started practicing yoga in the morning prior to work. I immediately felt better and more energized. I started practicing 3 times a week. A couple of months later I convinced my husband to try yoga and he immediately felt the benefits to his body. When I left that job, I knew I needed to find another studio for consistency.
I eventually found Stella Luna Yoga Studio and joined. I now practice yoga daily either by myself or with a studio class. Last year I decided to go deeper in my practice and yoga education. I signed up for Yoga School. I knew about the yoga movement (Asana), we had practiced various forms of breathing (Pranayama) in class and we had practiced meditation (Dhyana), but I knew there was more. Plus, I was ready to move up a level in my practice.
In yoga school I learned about the yoga 8-limbs path and how to apply it to my life and practice. I learned about the history of yoga. I learned how to safely teach yoga. I now have a well-rounded understanding of yoga.
I like to share yoga with other people because of what practicing yoga has done for me: I am stronger than I was 10 years ago, I have less pain in my body, and I am more comfortable in my body. And I have achieved a peace of mind that I did not have prior to yoga. I have learned that it is a good thing to take the time for both your body and mind, then you have the energy and the desire to take care of others. I always feel good after yoga.
