I recently introduced hot yoga into my life and have felt so welcomed at Tru for U. Instructors are knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I feel motivated to keep going to improve my health and wellness. I enjoy all classes but particularly love taking Kelly’s classes because they are challenging but relaxing at the same time. Her tailored yoga practice is a great mix of strength, flow, deep breathing, and relaxation. Kelly is so generous, and patient. She promotes non judgment by reminding yogis that everyone is different. This encourages me to become a student of my own body.
I started taking Yoga in 1996 in a high school Library. Living in japan 1998,99 allowed me to explore Meditation and Buddhism. I continued my Study of Yoga and Movement and strongly believe having a daily Yoga and Meditation practice is very important to me.
I have been an endurance athlete since I discovered bicycle racing as a teen. Yoga arrived in my life when I needed it the most. Yoga taught me how to heal my body from the many injuries that plague Runners and Cyclists. I now use Yoga to keep injuries at bay while training for upcoming events.
Having had Hip Surgery and Back surgery, much of my learning has focused on functional mobility of the hip and lower back. Over the years Physiotherapists have added to my repetoire of poses and movements which I will share with you during our time together onm the mat.
I am a professional Engineer and therefore bring the engineers mind to the Practice of yoga. I research poses to thourough understand what they do for the body. I use my own body as the laboratory for my experiments. I like to understand the poses and what they are doing inside my body. the majority of my practice is very slow with lots of mind body connection.
