Growing up in an Turkish American family Ayse has been exposed to belly dancing and Middle Eastern folk dancing all her life. Ayse was introduced to American Tribal Style Belly Dance (ATS) when she was living in Arizona in 1997. Her first teacher and director was Andrea McShane-Radoccio. Falling in love with this new style, Ayse become a member of her teacher's troupe Blue Dragon and began performing.Moving back to Southern California in 2000, Ayse started her own Tribal Fusion classes in Thousand Oaks realizing that no one in her area was teaching any kind of Tribal Belly dance. Forming her first performance troupe in 2001, she has taught many dancers that have gone on to have their own success as Tribal Bellydance teachers and performance artist. Her current troupe is called Wild Routes. Ayse performs and teaches Nationally and Internationally and is known for creating her own signature vocabulary of Improvisational Tribal Style Bellydance (ITS).Ayse's dance education includes ballet, jazz, African, Dunham technique, classical Indian, and various folkand belly dances. She has many muses and teachers to be thankful for including Carolina Nericcio, Jill Parker, Terri Walden, Sabrina Fox, Robert Salas, Dennon and Sayhber Rawles and many more.Ayse Cerami is also a licensed massage therapist.
