Steve Milles has competitive and coaching experience in muay Thai spanning more than two decades. As a competitor he won a bronze medal representing the US at the International Amateur Muay Thai Federation World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. After turning professional Steve captured the World Kickboxing Association and International Sport Kickboxing Association US Champion belts as well as the Intercontinental Champion title for the US Muay Thai Association, battling current and former world champions in North America, Europe and Asia. He retired with a professional record of 20 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws.
As a teacher his students have won accolades and championships in national and international competition, including regional, national and world championships. Steve was a Senior Instructor under former WKA World Champion Edge Brown and a certified Kru of the International Muay Thai Association under the world famous Grandmaster Toddy.
In one of his proudest moments, Steve was promoted to the rank of Arjan (Master) by Grandmaster Chansadeth “Cheetah” Chantanao in November 2008. He continues to travel to Thailand regularly in order to train with, and learn from, some of the most successful and lauded trainers in the sport. Arjan Steve looks forward to future achievement and development for himself and his students in the Art of Muay Thai.
Christy Miller has been active in the fitness industry in New York City for almost 20 years, working with all levels of clients. Her motto is 'slow and steady wins the race.' She can help you build a strong foundation and then work on specific goals when the time is right. Anyone can take someone through exercise, but Christy focuses on teaching and coaching. Christy also knows determination well, as she successfully overcame a difficult spine injury. She believes that strength doesn't discriminate, it is an asset to anyone who wants to stay pain free, in top shape and a better quality of life. A retired Roller Derby Queen, Christy has also been a stand-up comedian for 20 years. Christy's many certifications include: SFG level I & SFL NCSF-CSC TRX-STC, SMSTC, RTC DVRT level 2
Cornell first became known to the Five Points family as a familiar face in class and by representing the Fight Team in the ring with his aggressive and explosive style. Coming to us from Virginia, Cornell was a student and fighter at Five Points for three years before joining the coaching staff. An experienced Muay Thai competititor — taking silver and gold medals at successive WKA National Championships–he is always happy and willing to share his knowledge with others. He also loves 80s sci-fi and vegetables.

Bruce is an exciting young fighter and instructor with a very technical and elusive style, and an always-ready smile. Coming to us as a very experienced Tae Kwon Do competitor and instructor, Bruce has devoted himself to becoming proficient in muay Thai and is happy to share his experience with our students.
Simon Burgess has trained in Southeast Asian martial arts since 1987. An expatriate Brit, he twice represented England in international competition in the Philippines. After relocating to the United States, Simon captured the World Kickboxing Association US Super lightweight Amateur belt. Since retiring from competition, he has turned to the management and promotion aspect of kick boxing, putting on highly successful competitions in New York City with participants from as far as Holland, Russia and Thailand.
He has operated his own martial arts instruction business for over ten years, and is a certified instructor under Guro Bob Breen and the British Kali Escnma Association, Tuhon Bill McGrath and Pikiti Tersia International, a Senior Instructor under former WKA World Champion Edge Brown , a Kru of the International Muay Thai Association under the world famous Grandmaster Toddy. For “demonstrated technical, tactical and instructional proficiency in the Filipino combat system of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali,” Simon was promoted to the rank of Guro by Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje, Jr. of the Pekiti Tirsia Global Organization. Simon also holds the rank of Arjan (Master) under the direction of Grandmaster Chansadeth “Cheetah” Chantanao. Simon continues to refine his craft in both muay Thai and Pekiti Tirsia, training regularly with acknowledged masters in both disciplines.
Kevin is a graduate of Montclair State University with a Masters degree in exercise physiology. Kevin is a knowledgeable veteran of the fitness industry, operating a thriving independent training business for over a decade. An experienced judoka under Sensei Shiro Oishi, Kevin holds the rank of shodan (black belt, 1st degree).
Emily first became interested in personal training while earning a BFA in Dance and Choreography, a course of study that required mastery of kinesiology, physiology, anatomy and dynamic alignment. Emily is also an internationally ranked competitive thai boxer, holding the professional World Champion belt in muay thai for the WKA, two US Championship Belts and was a member of the US Team to the International Muay Thai Federation Amateur Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. And she loves dogs, too.
Giovanny is a red grade instructor, USKA and IKF Muay Thai Champion and an active professional fighter. An encouraging and intuitive trainer, Gio is adept at getting the most from his students.
Rima is an energetic, educated and motivating trainer. She received a Master’s degree in the Health Sciences with an emphasis on nutrition from Columbia University. A lifelong athlete who played four years of Division 1 collegiate soccer, Rima is also an internationally ranked muay thai fighter, a member of the WKA US Amateur Team. She it the proud mother of daughter, Simi.
Greg is a red grade instructor with an extensive background in martial arts and a keen eye for technical development. He is 2011 WKA World Amateur Champion , WKA North American Champion and US National Team member and 2013 Thai Boxing Association-USA North American Tournament Champion.
Gaius’ exposure to martial arts training began early: his mother is a black belt in Kung Fu and his father in Tai Chi. Gaius is a top-ranked competitor and US National Team member who holds the WKA North American Champion Title as well as 2013 Thai Boxing Association-USA North American Tournament Champion.
A product of the cornfields of Iowa, Hannah comes from a long line of strong people. Since moving to NYC in 2000, she has tackled everything from fashion design to Gender Studies, but she has a special passion for combat sports, strength and fitness training. She holds a green-and-white prajeat in Muay Thai under Arjan Steve Milles, and a blue belt in Brazilian jiujitsu under world champion Marcelo Garcia. She also bakes crazy-delicious ginger snaps.
Jin began his martial arts training in Hong Kong
at the age of 14. After moving to New York for university, he began
training at the Renzo Gracie Academy and continues to train there.
He has competed at the national and international levels in
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is a Black Belt under Renzo Gracie / John
Jin has also wrestled under the instruction of Hamid Kermanshah, NYAC wrestling coach and still practices with Mike Torriero, head coach of the Renzo Gracie Wrestling team. He has practiced judo at the NYAC Dojo, studying with Teimoc Johnston Ono. Additionally, Jin has coached and cornered fighters from the amateur to professional levels in MMA.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management and a Masters degree in Education.
Emily Siy has been teaching yoga since 2009 when she received her 200hr certification, registered by the Yoga Alliance. She holds additional training hours in Pre-natal Yoga and Functional Yoga Anatomy. Her yoga classes are in a Vinyasa flow style with focus on alignment and breathe. Emily is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NY) with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She holds a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design.
Chris Nagel has been practicing martial arts since he was 6 years old. After studying Judo, Yang style Tai Chi and Northern Style Wu Shu, he discovered his true passion in Pekiti Tirsia Kali in 2008 when he began training under Guro Simon Burgess Guro Barry Danielian at the original Five Points Academy. Since then he has had the opportunity to train with Tuhon Tim Waid and Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje, and attend training camps and seminars. In 2012 Chris was promoted to Lakan Guro in the PTK-SMF system under Tuhon Tim. As a German born US citizen, Chris attended law school in Brooklyn and has been a police officer with the NYPD since 2014. Since then, he has been deepening his understanding of self-defense and preparedness in the urban environment, and includes these aspects in his instruction.
David began PTK under Mataas na Guro Simon Burgess. David continues to train under Simon and trains several times a year with Tuhon Tim Waid of PTK-SMF. In June 2015, Tuhon Tim Waid awarded David the rank of Guro.
